The mission of the Heritage Foundation is to protect and preserve the architectural, geographic and cultural heritage of Franklin and Williamson County and to promote the revitalization of Downtown Franklin. These are the future faces of preservation.

The Next Generation (NGHF or Next Gen) of the Heritage Foundation is comprised of members ages 21 to 40. To keep up with their updates, “like” them on Facebook here.

Whether you grew up in Franklin, recently moved here–or just love the area–chances are, we appreciate Franklin for the same reasons. We invite you to join us in helping protect and preserve the architectural, geographical and cultural heritage of Franklin and Williamson County, and to promote the ongoing revitalization of downtown Franklin in the context of historic preservation.

This bustling historic district didn’t just happen; it took a community. And now, it’s time for the Next Generation to get involved not only for today, but for the generations that will come tomorrow.

What They Do

Since its inception in 2006, Next Gen has hosted “Historic Socials” at local historic homes, hosted the last event held in the historic Franklin Theatre, chaired homes during Historic Franklin’s Tour of Homes, published two cookbooks–A Taste of Historic Franklin and A Taste of Historic Franklin Vol. II–and held an annual (and wildly popular) fund-raising event,Three Blind Vines, where all proceeds benefit the long-term sustainability of the Franklin Theatre.

Membership Mixers

Next Gen hosts a monthly “Membership Mixer” on the fourth Thursday of each month around 7:00 p.m. The location rotates among various Downtown Franklin venues.  Whether you’re a current member, interested in becoming a member or just want to network with other young professionals in the area, we invite you to come out! Contact us for more information: nextgenhf@gmail.com.
